November 28, 2016 was a day filled with much fun and excitement for all the staff of UP ISSI.

This was the culminating activity after the weeklong celebration of the Institute’s 50th founding anniversary. The day started with a thanksgiving prayer from Engr. Luisa S. Lee, head of the Training and Entrepreneurship Education Division.  This was followed by a general assembly headed by officer-in-charge Dr. Fidel R. Nemenzo.

In his speech, Dr. Nemenzo told the staff to look back and appreciate the 50 years of challenges, lessons, and successes on which the Institute was built.  “ISSI was a product of all the efforts of those who came before us”, he said.  “We should appreciate these and build upon their legacy,” he added.

He also said that the anniversary was a time of celebration, review and renewal.  He then posed to the staff the challenge to continue to meet the changes of the times as one family.

“We should continue to bring out the best in each other everyday,” he said.

A laughter yoga session with wellness instructor Paolo Martin L. Trinidad ensued.  This form of yoga was said to relieve stress, strengthen the immune system, and promote the overall sense of wellbeing of participants.

To foster creativity trust, camaraderie, and cooperation among the employees the rest of the day was filled with team-building activities and games.
