UP ISSI joins the nation in the observance of the DPRM
The month of September is declared by Malacanang, through Proclamation 247 dated 2 September 2002, as Development Policy Research Month (DPRM).The Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS), the agency designated to lead and coordinate the yearly observance of the DRPM, states that the DPRM goal is “to promote and draw nationwide awareness on the importance of policy research in the formulation of national development plans, programs, and policies.”
This year’s theme is “Navigating the New Globalization: Local Actions for Global Challenges.”
Ms. Celia M. Reyes, President of PIDS, said that “we chose this theme to create awareness and increase understanding of the new era of globalization that is upon us and the challenges that come along with it, notably rising protectionism, worsening inequality trends, trade wars, weakening social cohesion, and proliferation of fake news and disinformation.”
You may visit the PIDS website at http://dprm.pids.gov.ph to know more about the activities prepared by the DPRM lead agency.
