About the Conference
The University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) is organising this two-day research conference that aims to bring together academics, researchers, scholars and postgraduate students from around the world and provide a platform where they can share their work in advancing new knowledge in the fields of entrepreneurship and small and medium enterprise (SME) development.

Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Participants are requested to initially submit an abstract of an unpublished paper or poster. It should be composed of 250 to 500 words in the English language only, using a template that can be downloaded here (The abstract template may also be requested via icesmed.issi.upd@up.edu.ph.
- The file name of the abstract must follow this format: LastName_FirstName_ICESMED2025
- The abstract must be submitted through this from: https://bit.ly/ICESMED2025Abstract
- Authors of accepted abstracts will be notified on or before July 2025 and will be asked to proceed to the submission of full-length papers or posters. The template for full-length submissions will likewise be sent to the authors via email.
- Authors may send more than one abstract. However, please note that if the author has two or more accepted abstracts and will present the respective papers/posters, his/her/their payment depends on the number of papers/posters presented.
- For the paper to be eligible to be included in the proceedings, at least one (1) author must be registered to present in the conference. In the case of joint or multiple authorships, any one (1) of the authors must register as a presenter in the conference whilst the other(s) may register either as attendee(s) or as additional presenter(s)
- Each paper presentation is limited to 10 minutes only, with an additional 10 minutes for the questions and answers.
- Only papers which are presented during the conference are eligible to be considered in the Conference proceedings. Papers in the proceedings will still undergo a double-blind peer review process.
- Full-length papers of not more than 8,000 words (excluding abstracts, references, tables and figures) will be double-blind reviewed by members of a pool of experts in the field.

NOTE
- Early bird registrants ( those who register on or before September 30, 2025 can avail of the 10 % discount.
- For walk-ins/late registrants, an additional 20 % fee will be added to their registration fee.
REFUND POLICY
- Registration fees underwrite the essential resources of the ICESMED encompassing lecture venues, scholarly materials, and support for invited contributors.
- Should a participant, for any reason, be unable to attend and opt to withdraw their registration, the following refund terms will apply:
- A 50% reimbursement of the registration fee will be provided ONLY for cancellations received ninety (90) days or more before the conference commences.
- No reimbursement will be offered for cancellations received fewer than ninety (90) days prior to the event.
- Refund requests must be submitted in writing to the organizing committee. Note that reimbursement follows standard academic administrative procedures. Thus, processing may take up to thirty (30) days or more.
