ASIP 2019 International Conference on Technology and Innovation Conference for SMEs

The small and medium enterprises (SME) sector has an enormous impact on the economy. But this sector is also facing huge challenges: increasing domestic and global competition, turbulent and uncertain market scenario, and the need to regularly update technology and revisit marketing and operational strategies. SMEs are challenged to be faster, sustainable and more inclusive. To thrive amidst all these changes and challenges, SMEs need to adopt innovative approaches. Innovation, i.e. technology, business processes, product/service development, pushes SMEs to not just survive the day-to-day business operation but to grow, expand, transform and scale-up.

Recognizing the impact and importance of technology and innovation to the SME sector, the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) and the Asian Society for Innovation and Policy (ASIP)* are holding an international conference on “Technology and Innovation for SMEs” on October 3-4, 2019 at the National College of Public Administration and Governance, University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City.
