In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012, UP ISSI management and staff attended the half-day learning session on data privacy and protection last 18 June 2018 at E. Virata Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City.
Ms. Hazel Meking of the UP Diliman Data Protection Office, the resource speaker for the learning session, discussed the importance of data privacy in the workplace, data privacy guidelines, and actions to be taken to comply with the requirements of the National Privacy Commission and the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Ms. Meking also shared the UP Diliman Message and Communication Policy.
At the end of the learning session, the various divisions in UP ISSI presented their workshop outputs on their respective data processing systems, policies, and documents/forms/templates/contracts, and affirmed their commitment to comply with the principles of data privacy and protection.
