Laddaran receives 2023 BCI Global Award in a hybrid ceremony

Joanna Rose T. Laddaran of UP ISSI was awarded the 2023 BCI Global Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ally / Champion of the Year in a hybrid ceremony on November 1, 2023, in London.

The Business Continuity Institute (BCI) Awards recognize professionals and organizations worldwide as these are one of the most prestigious awards in the business continuity and resilience community. In particular, the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Ally / Champion of the Year Award is given to an individual leading, sponsoring or championing the progress of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the resilience sector.

Accepting this award, Laddaran has this to say:

Thank you to The BCI, our partner MSMEs, the UP ISSI, the BCMAP, and the WIN DRR – Philippine Chapter, and my BCM mentors (Dr. Okabe and Rinske) who continue to inspire me to advocate for business continuity and resilience-building.

We will continue to advocate for the voices of MSMEs to be heard and amplified through our HANDA Program: Disaster Preparedness and Business Continuity Planning for MSMEs.

Lastly, I would also like to dedicate this award to my parents, especially my mom who taught me the value of women empowerment and representation.”

It can be recalled that Laddaran also received the BCI Asia Pacific (APAC) Awards – Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Ally / Champion of the year 2023 on 10 August 2023.

Congratulations to Joanna on the award!
