UP ISSI participates in ProPak Ph 2024
Institute for Small-Scale Industries of the University of the Philippines (UP ISSI) participated in the ProPak Philippines 2024, on March 31 – February 2 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.
Dubbed as the 4th International Processing and Packaging Trade event for the Philippines, various local and international brands and companies showcased their technology, products, and services.
“This is a good venue for the institute to expand its reach to various industries in the country and in this case for the processing and packaging industries,” said Mr. Ron Allan Estrebillo who led the UP ISSI team during the 3-day exhibit.
He also added that it was a fruitful experience because they were able to share the services of the institute to small businesses.
Moreover, three (3) University Extension Specialists served as resource persons and led the discussion on “Promoting Productivity and Business Continuity of the Packaging and Printing Industry for MSMEs”.
Mx. Jake A. Villanueva gave an introduction on Productivity while Ms. Senedith Delos Reyes shared her knowledge on Green Productivity. In addition, Ms. Joanna Rose T. Laddaran discussed about building resilience through Business Continuity Planning in the packaging and printing industries.
“Encourage the MSMEs to think about their position in the supply chain, their dependencies, and the threats to their business operations,” said Laddaran during her sharing.
According to the 2024 report of ProPak Philippines, a total of 8, 110 attended the event and 190 local and international organizations participated in the event.
