BUYanihan sa Diliman: Helping MSMEs market homegrown products

BUYanihan sa Diliman : 4th Pinoy MSME Showcase a success!

Spearheaded by the University of the Philippines Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI), a total of 37 MSMEs participated in the 4th BUYanihan sa Diliman by featuring their homegrown products at the UP College of Social Sciences and Philosophy grounds from May 15-17, 2024.

The 3-day trade fair aimed to help MSMEs by providing a platform where various locally made products and services can be displayed.  Its primary purpose was to bring together business owners, entrepreneurs, and clients in one gathering for networking and sharing ideas.

The products that were up for sale included ready-to-eat and processed food, handicrafts, wearables, and other items that delighted the UP Diliman community.

Aside from networking, the event has helped MSMEs market their products and generate sales. Regular exhibitors underscored that they have developed a regular market after the event because their existence was noticed by the buyers.

UP ISSI Director Melanie Moraga-Leaño, on her Facebook account, personally commended the Institute’s staff who made efforts to make the event a success.

“Congratulations to the BUYanihan Team for a job well done. It was certainly not easy but you made this run successful through your hardwork, perseverance, patience, and wilingness to serve. Mabuhay ang MSMEs!”

ISSI has been holding a trade fair to showcase new and improved homegrown products of MSMEs.  The Institute held three runs of BUYanihan sa Diliman last year and the fifth run is being planned later for this year.
