UP ISSI opens 80th PES Course
Last April 26, 2025, the UP Institute for Small-Scale Industries (UP ISSI) officially opened the 80th Productivity through Effective Supervision (PES) Course, continuing its legacy of building capable and confident supervisors for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The training will run until May 31, 2025, bringing together 36 participants from 16 different companies, all eager to strengthen their leadership capabilities and contribute more effectively to their respective organizations.
The course is managed by Jefferson Sumalabe and Sofia Belen Sarte of the Training and Entrepreneurship Education Division of UP ISSI, ensuring smooth implementation and impactful learning throughout the program.
Ms. Noly T. Cayabyab, a seasoned expert in human resource management and quality systems, set the tone for Day 1 with insightful sessions on personal effectiveness, as well as on the topic of understanding management functions and the supervisor’s roles. Her discussions emphasized the importance of self-awareness, accountability, and aligning team goals with organizational objectives.
The PES Course aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for the effective and efficient management of both people and operations, empowering them to become key drivers of productivity in their organizations.
